Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge

On Sunday, January 17, 2010, the Wilderness Way Community visited the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge to experience what this area was like before we humans settled here.  The refuge is located within the floodplain of the Tualatin River basis near Sherwood, OR, (about 15 miles from downtown Portland) at the northern end of the Willamette Valley.  This refuge was created with the strong support of the local citizens, stemming from a desire to preserve green space where future generations can take part in outdoor recreation and education.
